When the party is over...

A flashing light filled her eyes when she woke up in the middle of the road. Alone, not remembering why and what happened. Being confused, she set herself up at her foot and looked around. It was nighttime. The road was Newtown Street. She remembered. Working hard on her memory, she remembered somethings.
She went to a party, her best friend's birthday party. She had her life's best day after her family moved to Park Avenue. She was crossing the road and then she heard a screech and then nothing. The next thing she remembers is the flashing street light.
She walked across the empty street and found out that the party was over. All around lying rubbish that was to be dumped out of the house in the morning.
She remembered some flashbacks of the party and the loud noise of the burstings balloons and the shrieks of laughter everywhere. She remembered she was happy. She knew she would gossip about the things that happened the next day.
She walked down the street and remembered that it was late at night and her parents were waiting for her. She was afraid her parents would scold her hard for returning home late and alone. So she started hurrying. She returned home but it was empty. Not one soul was seen or heard. She was all confused. But then she heard something. Muffled cries of a man and a woman, coming towards her house.
Not before long, she realized it was her mother ad father. He ran to them and asked what had happened. Nobody seemed to have heard or seen her. She was utterly confused about what had happened.
She again remembered flashbacks. The time her mother was standing behind her when she was dressing for the party. She forgot to take the gift. And when she was leaving, her father shouted from the window reminding her of her best friend's gift. He had tossed the gift and she had fortunately caught it. Her mother was a little annoyed with the fathers act but at last, she waved her goodbye with a smile. The last thing she said to her was,' I'm sure there are return gifts!'
And when she came back to the present she heard sirens. When she turned back, she was speechless.
She found her body lying in the hearse. Pale, cold, still. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Then she saw her best friend's mother and father and finally the best friend.
Flashbacks hit her mind for the last time. Her best friend was walking with her just to make sure she won't feel alone while going home. They were having a nice chat when her best friend was crossing the road, Newtown road. Smiling, talking, laughing about life she kept walking behind her. Then when the best friend started walking backward, a truck came smashing towards her. It had a break failure. She screamed her name pushing her out of the road but being in the middle of it. And then nothing.
She wanted to talk to her about everything. Tears filled up in her eyes as she watched her pale, cold, still, body going to where it was supposed to be.
'I am dead', she muttered. 'I am dead', she screamed, and then she broke down in tears.
She knew that her family couldn't see her anymore. She knew that she could see their tears but could not wipe them.
She is still here, with us. Living or being with all of us. Maybe she is lying in the middle of Newtown Street, or maybe she is in the grave, or maybe she is just sitting beside you. Being partly happy and partly sad about being remembered.
